"I admire actors and artists who devote just as much time to their life as they do to their work. Paul Newman, Susan Sarandon, Dustin Hoffman, Will Smith, Pedro Almondovar, Joel and Ethan Cohen and Alexander Paine are a few that come to mind. In terms of the younger generation of actors that I look to for inspiration, Peter Saarsgaard, Mark Ruffallo and Eric Bana are all incredible. (There are so many actors, and so many performances that have moved me. Those are just a few from off the top of my head.)" Have you ever turned down a movie role and why? Yes. Most of the time it has to do with the fact that I can't feel myself playing the character that I've been offered, I feel I just don't fit with the role (Sometimes other peoples' perceptions of you are very different from your perception of yourself at a certain time). The main things I look for are a great script, director and character. Sign Jake's Guestbook Join the Gyllenhaalics!
